About Us

 

Young children have so many unanswered questions and big ideas to share with each other and with the adults they come in contact with. They have become inquisitive thinkers and are able to hypothesize and form solutions to their unknowns.

 

Part of forming solutions is to engage in the process of problem solving. This process becomes key by allowing the children to take risks by experimenting with their surroundings. Some children will take pride in working in a small group to solve a problem while others might find it necessary to work independently for a given task. Children will be placed in scenarios where they will need to decide how to best solve a problem and in that process, learn to celebrate the mistakes they make. Mistakes are natural in the learning process and are viewed as opportunities for growth!

 

We understand that learning can range from an independent activity inside the classroom to an activity that takes place outdoors; where a child can play, explore, initiate, and engage in his or her own learning. Play is very crucial and is a natural process in the development of a well-rounded child. 

 

Children will be exposed to an array of skills and concepts that are within their capabilities and not based solely on their age. We strongly believe in the importance of nurturing and supporting an individual child’s social needs. We foster, model, and instill what it means to respect and care for each member within our small community as well as within the environment.
